POS software for supermarkets and provision stores in Nigeria

A busy counter, and every item still accounted for.

When customers queue at the counter, you need to record what they bought and how they paid without slowing down. TruKonta keeps the sale, the stock and the day's numbers in one app on the phone, tablet or laptop you already have.

The everyday problem

A rush at the counter is where records slip

A provision store sells single bottles and full cartons, takes cash and transfers, and receives a delivery, all on the same morning. A payment alert does not say which items left the shelves, and a notebook cannot keep up with a queue.

TruKonta records each sale against your product list as it happens, so stock goes down with every sale and the day ends with figures you can check.

An illustrative example

Example: single bottles and full cartons

A made-up business, to show how it works. Not a customer story.

A family buys a carton of malt drinks; walk-in customers buy single bottles. From Starter, the carton and the bottle are one product sold two ways, so every sale takes the right number of bottles out of stock.

At closing, the owner counts the money and compares it with the day's sales. If cashiers handle the drawer, see cashier and staff monitoring; for stock beyond the counter, see inventory management.

What you can do

One app for the whole job.

Ring up a sale quickly

Search your list or scan the barcode with the phone camera. Park a sale while a customer fetches one more item.

Cash, transfer and card on one bill

Record any mix of payments on a single sale, with each part tracked.

Stock that keeps up

Every sale takes the items out of stock, and low-stock alerts flag what to reorder.

Staff without the guesswork

From Starter, cashiers get their own PIN and a role that hides your buying price. Business adds counted handovers between cashiers.

How it works

An illustrative day in a provision store

An example of the everyday routine. What you see depends on your plan.

  1. Set up the catalogue

Add products with prices and costs, one at a time or from a spreadsheet. From Starter, add cartons and packs to the same product.

  2. Receive the morning delivery

Record the stock that came in. Buying by the carton is normal.

  3. Serve the queue

Scan or search, check the bill and record how the customer paid.

  4. Share the receipt

Send it on WhatsApp from the phone, or print it on a small receipt printer.

  5. Close the day

Count the money and compare it with the day's sales, then check what is running low for tomorrow.

Good to know

TruKonta is not a payment terminal

A bank or fintech POS terminal processes the card payment. TruKonta records the sale behind it: the items, the total, how the customer paid and what left your stock. Keep the terminal you already use.

Who it helps

Who this is for

Provision stores, mini-marts, convenience stores and growing supermarkets that sell packaged goods over a counter. TruKonta does not connect to weighing scales.

Good to know

Questions, answered plainly.

Does TruKonta supply a card POS machine?

No. TruKonta is POS software on the phone, tablet or laptop you already have. Your bank or payment provider supplies the terminal and moves the money.

Can I sell by carton and by piece?

Yes, from Starter. One product can be sold as a single item or as a carton or pack, and each sale takes the right number of pieces out of stock.

Can several cashiers share one counter?

Yes, from Starter. Each cashier switches in with their own PIN, and their role can hide your buying price and profit.

Does it work with a weighing scale?

No. TruKonta does not connect to weighing scales.

What happens when there is no network?

Selling and stock keep working. Everything runs from data on the device, and it all syncs the moment a signal returns.
